About MJ's Consulting

Our team has over 20 years’ experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). We have experience working in Primary Care Practices, Ophthalmology, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Laboratory, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Workman's Compensation. We also have a proven track record of improved cash flow, accounts receivable management and revenue capture. Knowledgeable about pre-service, time-of-service and post-service processes as it pertains to healthcare billing and collections. The team has worked on several different Practice management systems which include EPIC, NextGen, Cerner and in-house client systems.

The team worked with a Primary Care practice and was able to quickly identify areas of opportunity and collaborate with key stakeholders to implement process improvements. We developed strategies to improve reimbursement and collection Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for Billing staff as well as each practice location as they relate to Revenue Cycle Management for $34M annual billings. Implemented processes for Point of Service (POS) cash acceleration through financial counseling, eligibility, denial avoidance, and minimizing bad debt expense.

Our healthcare RCM expertise allows us to better advise on an array of items, while making sure client needs are met. We have handled practice management upgrades and training, advised on billing policies and procedures, and developed processes to ensure efficient and effective revenue cycle management. Lesson learned has showed us that 90% of getting it right in revenue cycle management is staying organized. It is easy for things to get lost in the shuffle if you haven’t implemented and followed appropriate daily procedures.
